PHYSICIANS OF NO VALUE

Job 13:4

Morning Meditation 10/7/2013

"But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value."

Job begins to answer his comforters. Zophar believes that Job is a hypocrite and liar. He says in Job 11:6, "And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth."

Then Job says, "But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value." Every age has had physicians of no value. They are forgers of lies. Let's notice some of them.

DOCTOR ATHEIST

The Psalmist speaks of this one: Psalms 14:1, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

A man is a fool to deny the existence of God. God's finger prints are everywhere you look. Just because one cannot see God does not mean there is no God. But this is exactly what the world is saying. That is what the public schools say when they throw the Bible out of the class room. That is what they are saying when they teach the hypothesis of evolution. Then there is--

DOCTOR AGNOSTIC

The word "agnostic" comes from the Greek word "agnoeo." It is the word used by Paul when he said, "I would not have you ignorant brethren." So the agnostic is the man who says, "I do not know." He is in as bad a shape as the one who says there is no God.

The agnostic is a physician of no value. He knows nothing that is important. You cannot get help in that doctor's office.

DOCTOR NO-HELL

This old gentleman, dressed up in modern fashion, declares you need not fear, "God is merciful, and He will never punish any with an eternal punishment."

There are many in the ministry today who do not believe in a literal hell. Matthew 10:28, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Matthew 18:9, "And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire."

Luke 16:22-23, "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom."

Jesus is the one speaking in each of the three references above. He taught more about hell than He did about heaven. There is a hell that is everlasting and this is where the Christ rejecters go when they die.

DOCTOR FALSE PEACE

This sweet-faced, oily-tongued quack, says, Peace, peace, when there is no peace. Peace belongs to those who are genuinely saved. Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"

But for a preacher to tell you everything is alright when one has not been saved he is a quack and will meet his converts in hell. But it will be too late then.

DOCTOR PROCRASTINATOR

This one is also a quack and offers deadly advise. He says you have plenty of time. Have your fun. You can wait to be saved until you are on your death bed. The problem is that many do not have a bed to die on. They are in a car accident or die suddenly from some other means. You can know all there is to know about how to be saved but if you die without being saved it is not enough to know how. Acts 26:28, "Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." Agrippa was a procrastinator. There is no record of him ever being saved.

There will probably be more people in hell who were "almost persuaded" than for any other reason. But almost is not enough.

JESUS IS THE PHYSICIAN THAT NEVER FAILS

He says, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." He also says, John 6:37, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
