Isa 1:2-3

Morning Meditation 3/17/2013

Isaiah 1:2-3, "Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider."

“Hear of heavens . . .. my people do not consider.”

THE COST OF THEIR PURCHASE

1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

1 Peter 1:18-19, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"

People today do not consider the cost of their redemption.

THEY REALIZE THE ALL-SUFFICIENCY OF THE SAVIOUR

Colossians 1:19 says, "For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;"

If all the fulness of God dwells in Him, we should never doubt His power to keep us from falling and present us faultless before the throne of His glory. There is not a need that He cannot satisfy.

THE PURPOSE OF THEIR REDEMPTION

He redeemed us that He might choose us for His bride. John 3:29 “He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.”

He redeemed us that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Jesus Christ.

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR POSITION

One of the greatest responsibilities is world evangelism. Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

We also have the responsibility to live a holy life. If our lives a spotted by sin then our testimony will not be received. Ephesians 4:1, "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,"

THE GLORY OF THEIR DESTINY

Revelation 22:1-5, "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manners of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever."

The Christian suffers in this world but he is destined for a land that is fairer than day and by faith we see it afar.

May the Lord bless these words to our hearts.
