A GREAT WORK

Eph 2:10

Morning Meditation 2/22/2013

Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

THE WORK

“We are His workmanship, created.” It is a creation work. God makes of us a new man. Ephesians 4:24, "And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." Only God can create. Just as God created Adam, He created a new man when we were saved. It is a new man within the old. It is created in righteousness and true holiness. It is a saving work.

It is a sanctifying work. The believer cannot sin and get away with it. When we sin we are immediately brought under the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We have a choice of confessing our sins and being restored to fellowship with Christ or being chastened by the Lord.

THE WORKER

We are “His workmanship.” God is involved in the life of all of His children. He guides us, He secures us and He comforts us when we are down. This is a sanctifying work. We are His by birth. And He is our Father. Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father which art in heaven hollowed by thy name.”

THE WONDER OF THE WORK

We are “created in Christ Jesus.” It is a marvelous work. He creates us after His image. In Christ we are fashioned after the Divine pattern. 2 Peter 1:4, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

We are partakers of the Divine nature. What a wonderful work it is.
