BUT WE SEE JESUS
Heb 2:9
Morning Meditation 2/18/2013
Hebrews 2:9, "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."
WE SEE JESUS AS GOD’S EQUAL
John 1:1-3, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
John 1:14, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth."
Jesus is God. The cults do not admit this. They find a way around it. But it stands as eternal truth and not to believe this is to reject the Saviour of the world.
WE SEE HIM IN GREAT POVERTY
2 Corinthians 8:9, "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."
Jesus said, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay His head” (Matt 8:20).
WE SEE HIM IN GREAT SORROW
Isaiah 53:3-4, "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
This is the price He paid to redeem us from all sin. His heart is gladdened when one sinner repents. His sorrow is turned into joy.
WE SEE HIM IN SELF SACRIFICING LOVE
Matthew 20:28, "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
He took our place. He went to a cross we deserved. He paid the penalty for our sins. 1 Peter 3:18, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"
SEE HIM IN UNFAILING OBEDIENCE
John 6:38, "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me."
John 8:29, "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."
No man can make this claim. His obedience becomes our obedience. His holy life becomes ours. We stand before God in His perfect obedience.
SEE HIM IN HIS MIGHTY POWER
Ephesians 1:20, "Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,"
God raised Jesus from the dead and set Him at His own right hand. That is unbelievable power. He had power to lay His life down and power to take it up again. He has the power to call us away from this world in the rapture. This is almighty power.
WE SEE HIM IN SUSTAINING POWER
Hebrews 4:15-16, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
May the Lord bless these words to our hearts
In Christ
