THE THINGS OF GOD THAT HE HAS REVEALED FOR US
Deut. 29:29
Morning Meditation 9/29/17
"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law."
The word "secret" in this verse means, "to hide carefully, to conceal." There are some things that are hidden from man. God has hidden them and you can be sure when God hides something, it is beyond man's finding. Man has a great curiosity. It is hard for man to live without an explanation for all things..
Out text says, "The secret things belong unto the LORD our God.." These secret things are His because they are the things He created. He chose to keep them secret because it would not be for the betterment of mankind for him to reveal these things. So He elected to keep them hidden. It is a waste of man's time to search for the meaning of things God has chosen to hide. God can hide them right under man's nose and he will never find them if God has chosen to hide them.
But our text goes further. God says, "But those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law." What God has revealed, man can uncover and know the meaning. They are ours. God has given us these things, "that we may do all the words of this law." Many of the things God has hidden, have not been hidden beyond the ability of man to discover." God withheld the law of relativity until Einstein came along. There are things that are not permanently hidden from man. As God in His sovereignty chooses to make known the secrets not known before by man, He will make it possible. There are other things that are hidden that God will never reveal. Man just has to live without the knowledge of them.
The things that God has chosen to keep concealed, gives man a real problem. Man does not want to accept that there are things beyond his understanding. Man wants to believe that there is nothing that cannot be discovered by him. He takes great pride in claiming the ability to uncover the meaning of things before hidden. This is how Satan tempted man in the garden of Eden. He said if you will eat, you will know . . ." Man's curiosity got the best of him and he opted for death with knowledge rather than life with patiently waiting on God's revelation.
Let's just look at some things that man thinks he has discovered.
THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE
Man says that the creation is the result of a BIG BANG millions of years ago. The scientists say that this big bang took place and from that explosion the ordered universe came out to be seen as it is today. This theory contradicts the basic theory of interpretation on which science always comes to what he believes is a correct conclusion. The scientist says that order never comes out of disorder. Order is always the result of planning and a logical conclusion is accomplished. For creation to take place, there must be a Creator with a design.
The Bible claims that God is the Originator of all things. Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
John 1:1-3, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; AND WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANY THING MADE THAT WAS MADE."
Colossians 1:16-17, "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM, AND FOR HIM: AND HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS, AND BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST."
Jesus is the One in the Godhead that created all things and it is by Him that all things consist. The word "consist" translates "sunistao." This word means, "to stay glued together." This universe is held together by His word and when the time comes for the earth's destruction all He will have to do is to release His grip and it will literally fall apart. He created it, and He holds it together.
THE ORDER OF CREATION
The order of creation is also His doing. Romans 1:20 says, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" He says the invisible is understood by the invisible. It is so ordered and works so good, each part with the other, there can be no doubt that an infinite mind was and is behind creation.
Psalms 19:1-6, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof."
The heavens do declare the glory of God. They speak just like a house speaks of an architect and planning with skilled men skilled in their trade so that a house is completed. For one to say this came out of a big bang would be time for the one who reasons like this to be put under a doctor's care. This should make no sense at all. Yet when one looks at the ordered universe and denies a Creator he is said to be a scientist in whom we can trust. I'm sorry but that man is wobbling on the AXEL !!! He needs help desperately. His books need to be put aside. For us to give this type of thinking credit for being highly educated is to confess our own stupidity.
Order does not come out of disorder. An ordered creation is not the result of a big bang. That is not scientific. It is the rejection of the Word of God in favor of a theory which is not a theory based on how true science is arrived.
The Bible says in Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Faith responds, "Amen." Hebrews 11:3 says, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."
ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE CREATOR
There is coming a time when men will have to stand before an infinitely intelligent Creator and give an account why they rejected the true facts of creation. God will remind them of Deuteronomy 29:29, "The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law." God has spoken and it is the only reasonable thing that has been said on creation.
Isaiah 40:28 says, "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding."
Psalms 98:9 says, "Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity."
Verses like this are given that we might know that God will judge the world and He will do it in righteousness. Every man will get a fair judgment. But God has judged in advance and has concluded that all are sinners and need a redeemer which He has freely provided. Faith in Jesus will give man the forgiveness he needs and the standing He needs before the Lord. The man who rejects this rejects it to his own doom. God has warned man. He has demonstrated that He has no soft spot that will allow man to escape without the price of judgment being paid. Romans 8:32 says, "He that SPARED NOT HIS OWN SON, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" If God spared not His own Son, we can be sure He will not spare anyone else. All must have his sins forgiven or pay for them himself by going to the place of punishment forever.
Rom. 2:16 says, "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."
THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD
1 Corinthians 2:10-12 says, "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know THE THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US OF GOD."
God has revealed to us the deep things that make us as His children more informed than the unbelievers of this world. Psalms 119:99-100 say, "I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts." Knowing the Word of God gives the believer a distinct advantage of understand things that have to do with creation and man as to the purpose for which creation and man were created..
Our text simply lets us know that we are special to Him and He gives us information because we are children of the kingdom and He is saying that He gives us the right to know. We are citizens of another world. And the Lord reveals things to us that this world does not know or understand. This equips us to endure trials. We know that the trials always have a good purpose and they are not permanent. We know there is an end to the trials and that we learn things in the trials that we would never otherwise know. We also know that there is nothing that comes our way that the Lord will not be in it with us and enable us to go through. He never lets us go through more than we can bear. It is a big help to the Christian to know that no matter what the trial, God will be with us, and nothing will happen that God does not enable us to endure the trial, and He will enable us to stand when others fall. God will always enable us in the midst of trials even though they are sometime fiery. Amen!!!

May the Lord bless these words to our hearts. I trust that it will encourage all our readers to know that as His children that we are a privileged lot with whom He shares His purposes. This makes us a part of His inner circle with whom He is willing to share things that make us live constantly on the EDGE of a shout. Amen!!!
