Note From Pastor

Monday May 27th is Memorial Day. It is the day that our nation sets aside each year to remember the ultimate sacrifices that have been made by thousands of American soldiers during times of war and the loved ones they left behind who grieve their absence.
Through out our country as well as around the world are countless cemeteries that bear the remains of some of our finest patriots who fell in battle protecting our nations interests. In the city of Manila in the Philippines I walked through one of those cemeteries. I was told that it contained over 50,000 graves of our military men and women who never returned home from war. It was an incredible experience. As far as the human eye could see were rows after rows of headstones with American flags gracing each. You may or may not agree, but I believe that it is a stain upon our privileged heritage that for the most part the American population will overlook the meaning and the motivation for why we have such a holiday. Whether it will be shopping for a bargain or any other number of personal pursuits, the truth is that most of our citizens will be so distracted by the prosperity we enjoy that we will fail to remember those who died fighting for the freedoms we have. May we remember. May we never forget. In doing so keeps the memory of those who died ... alive, and reminds the living of the tremendous price which our liberty was purchased. May "Memorial Day" be a solemn and spiritual day. A day in which we treasure the heroic deeds of our past and celebrate The God of the bible (His name is Lord Jesus Christ) who made America the greatest nation of the 20th and 21st century !!!!

We are grateful for all who have served, but Memorial Day is to remember those who gave their lives. So many were so very young! May we always honor them!

I remember family and freinds among many others who never came back. Thanks for them.
