Coronavirus Response

Saturday, March 14, 2020

As of today, there are no plans to cancel services tomorrow or this coming Wednesday. The current situation concerning the coronavirus and the flu in the Midlands, according to our state health officials, is being assessed at a low risk. Until those factors change, we plan to maintain our current schedule.

However, we are postponing all of our non-regular service activities. (Widow/Widower Luncheon, choir practices etc.) We are being instructed by health officials to Prepare not to Panic.

Preparation for us will include extra cleaning measures between services as well as common sense measures by each of us when we are together.

  • Washing with soap or sanitizing hands thoroughly
  • Covering mouth when coughing or sneezing
  • Limited to no hand shaking while speaking to one another
  • Self-imposed isolation from services, youth clubs, and use of nursery for:
    • Those who have or had a fever, persistent cold-like symptoms or diarrhea in the past 3 days.
    • All who have seriously fragile health issues, regardless of age.
    • Anyone who has been in close (family) contact with one who has tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 14 days.
  • Live Streaming of services will be provided for those not healthy enough to attend.

Obviously, the current situation is fluid, so we will monitor and respond accordingly. Lord willing, see you tomorrow!! Brother Gene
