Stephen Hawking, one of the world’s most renowned scientists who was known for his contributions to the world of theoretical physics, passed away on March 14th 2018 at the age of 76. It was remarkable that he lived so long. At the age of 22, Professor Hawking was given only a few years to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease. The illness left him completely disabled in a wheelchair and unable to speak except through a computer synthesizer. His condition inevitably made him dependent on others. He often paid tribute to his wife, who had looked after him for more than 20 years, and friends and relatives were shocked when he left her for one of his nurses, Elaine Mason, whom....
The tragic images of 21 Egyptian men about to be beheaded is a horrific example of how hostile the world we live in has become. The primary reason given by the radical Islamist’s for their act of barbarism was the Christian faith which their victims professed. Reportedly: These young men were in their early to mid-20s. They went to Libya in search of work to help feed their families living under the poverty line in Egypt. In the days and weeks leading up to their deaths, their ISIS captors tortured them and attempted to persuade them to deny Jesus in return for living. They all refused to deny Christ. Monday May 27th is Memorial Day. It is the day that our nation sets aside each year to remember the ultimate sacrifices that have been made by thousands of American soldiers during times of war and the loved ones they left behind who grieve their absence. Through out our country as well as around the world are countless cemeteries that bear the remains of some of our finest patriots who fell in battle protecting our nations interests. In the city of Manila in the Philippines I walked through one of those cemeteries. I was told that it contained over 50,000 graves of our military men and women....
